Agency, April 4: A brilliant brace from winger Vinícius Júnior powered Real Madrid to victory in Spain’s La Liga. In last night’s match, Madrid defeated Espanyol 2–0, reducing the points gap with league leaders Barcelona.
Playing at the RCDE Stadium, Vinícius opened the scoring in the 55th minute to give Madrid the lead. He doubled the advantage just 11 minutes later, netting his second goal of the match in the 66th minute with an impressive finish.
Neither side managed to add to the scoreline for the remainder of the game, as Madrid comfortably secured a 2–0 win.
With this result, Real Madrid remain in second place with 77 points from 34 matches, keeping the pressure on Barcelona at the top. Espanyol, meanwhile, sit 13th in the standings with 39 points from the same number of games.
