Kathmandu, Nov, 6: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has said that no one should be given immunity for wrongdoing simply because they are a voter or member of his party.
During a meeting with party workers in Ichchhakamana, Chitwan, on Friday, Lamichhane stressed that everyone must abide by the rule of law, including party leaders, members and supporters.
“Just because someone supports us, voted for us or is a member of our party does not mean they can get away with doing whatever they want. Even though we believe in running the party according to established rules, our leaders and supporters are not above the law. We believe in the rule of law,” he said.
He added that his party was working to ensure that all institutions and state agencies follow the law and strengthen its implementation.
Lamichhane also said that his responsibilities had kept him from visiting his constituency for a long time. He stressed the need to strengthen the party’s organizational structure by developing leadership and distributing responsibilities from the grassroots level.
