Kathmandu, Aug 27: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has appealed to everyone to provide assistance to those afflicted by the recent disaster. Issuing a press statement on Thursday, CNI said it was saddened over the tremendous loss of lives and property in the devastating Bhoteskoshi flash flood.
The business entity informed that it had established a disaster response committee and forwarded the initiative to collect relief materials and hand over to the affected ones. The disaster survivors would be provided the relief materials and assisted for rehabilitation and reconstructions works.
CNI reminded all of its members, industrialists and entrepreneurs and business houses to extend support to the government and community at such hour of grief and urgency.
Similarly, the Confederation of Bank and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBFIN) said it was aggrieved over the unimaginable loss of lives and property in the flash flood occurred in the Bhotekoshi River of Rasuwa district.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, CBFIN said the devastating flood destroyed financial and banking infrastructures, human settlements, hydropower projects, roads, commercial firms and even the vehicles and consignments imported from Keyrong border point between Nepal and China.
The disaster will impact severely on economic activities- loan, entrepreneurship, banking services because the bank and financial institutions have taken huge loans for the investment in hydropower, trade, tourism and infrastructure that faced severe damages and destructions.
However, the banks and financial institutions are working untiringly for restoring the customers’ access to banking services conveniently and promptly, it added.
