Police Arrest Suspect Accused of Intimidating Dailekh Ward Secretary

Kathmandu, May 16: Prakash Khadka has been arrested on charges of threatening a government employee by misusing the name of Prime Minister Balen Shah.

A team from the Kathmandu District Police Range arrested 22-year-old Khadka, a resident of Birendrachowk in Birendranagar Municipality-6, Surkhet, on Saturday.

According to police, Khadka allegedly misused the name of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to threaten a civil servant, spread fear and intimidation, and use abusive language.

The Office of the Prime Minister had earlier issued a statement warning of legal action after Khadka allegedly threatened Kamal Bhandari, ward secretary of Dullu Municipality-13 in Dailekh, over the phone.
