Gandaki, April 27: The Pokhara auditorium is set to be renovated and upgraded with new facilities. Mayor the Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality Dhanraj Acharya, announced that the hall, which was constructed approximately 42 years ago, has deteriorated significantly.
The Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality, in collaboration with the City Development Fund, has reached an agreement to rebuild it.
He stated that the ‘design’ for the reconstruction has already been finalized. “This initiative, which will be executed at a total expenditure of Rs. 290 million, will include the construction of parking for two-wheelers on the northern side of the existing hall, restrooms on the southern side, ‘underground parking’, and an exhibition hall in place of the current garden,” he explained.
Following the reconstruction, he indicated that there are plans to enhance the facility to the extent that there will be no necessity to display ‘banners’ within the hall for events, and provisions such as a ‘digital lead screen’ will be included. Upon completion of the reconstruction, the Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to offer a meeting hall equipped with amenities at a reasonable fee to various organizations and service users, intends to manage its operational costs and investments through the revenue generated from the hall.
