Kathmandu, July 29: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has been nominated as the senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
RSP’s central committee meeting today decided to nominate Shah as the senior leader, party general secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya informed.
In accordance with Clause 22(11)(J) of the party’s statute, Shah was unanimously picked as the party’s senior leader, on the proposal of party President Rabi Lamichhane, General Secretary Acharya added.
Paying tribute to the citizens who lost their lives in recent incidents in Sunsari and other districts, the party meeting expressed deep condolences to the grieving families.
The meeting also wished speedy recovery for all citizens and security personnel who were injured in the incidents.
Acharya noted the meeting conducted a detailed and candid review of the multidimensional aspects of the party’s first historic general convention, which was held from the ward level to the central level.
Similarly, the meeting formed a ‘Party Secretariat’ as per the party statute, it is stated. The secretariat comprises party President along with the elected officials: Vice Presidents Dr. Swarnim Wagle and Sobita Gautam, General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya, and Joint General Secretaries Asim Shah, Hari Dhakal, and Nisha Danghi.
The meeting decided to mandatorily hold discussions on current and multidimensional issues at least once a month at the party office on the presence of central committee members.
It is aimed to make the performance of party ministers participating in the government more people-focused and to make coordination with the party effective.
Similarly, the party central committee has issued a directive that members at all levels should not share or forward posts or information related to suicide or self-immolation on any of their social media platforms.
