Kathmandu, Aug, 18: Prime Minister and Defence Minister Balen Shah held a courtesy meeting with Indian Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
General Seth met Prime Minister Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava was also present during the meeting.
General Seth arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday for a four-day visit at the formal invitation of Nepal Army Chief General Ashok Raj Sigdel.
During his visit, President Ram Chandra Paudel conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army on General Seth on Monday. Nepal and India have maintained a tradition since 1950 of conferring the honorary rank of General on the army chief of the other country.
General Seth also held bilateral talks with Nepal Army Chief General Sigdel on Monday.
