Kathmandu, May 5: As many as 36 office-bearers politically appointed earlier in different nine agencies under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MoCIT) have been automatically relieved of their posts en masse.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry today, the office-bearers serving with several Corporations, Boards, Authority, Commissions and Committees under the MoCIT have been relieved of their posts with the ‘Special Provision Ordinance on the Removal of Public Officials from Office, 2083’ coming to force.
The chairpersons, members and executive officials working in the agencies have been freed of their responsibilities as per the Clause 2(9) of the Ordinance, the ministry stated.
It is stated in the release that Gorkhapatra Sansthan chair, Govinda Prasad Bhandari, has been relieved of his post.
Similarly, Press Council Nepal’s chair, Dr. Kumar Sharma Acharya, along with nine other members have been relieved of their posts.
Likewise, Nepal Telecommunications Authority chair, Bhupendra Bhandari, along with other four members have been terminated from their posts.
Advertisement Board chair, Laxman Humagain, along with three other members have also been relieved of their posts.
Member of the Security Printing Center, Aditya Neupane, and Executive Director, Devaraj Dhungana, have been relieved of their posts.
Public Service Broadcasting Nepal chair Dr Mahendra Bista along with three other members have been relieved of their posts.
Similarly, Chief Information Commissioner at the National Information Commission, Dr. Suresh Prasad Acharya, along with two other commissioners have been freed of their posts.
The ministry has stated that members of the Film Screening Committee, Sampanna Shrestha, Kuvera Raj Giri, and Bhagwati Kumari Mainali Upreti (Bhima), as well as Minimum Wage Determination Committee chair Sangita Khadka along with three other members have also been relieved of their positions.
