NCP parliamentary leader Dahal stresses seeking solution through dialogue, consensus

Kathmandu, July 30: Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Parliamentary Party leader and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has laid emphasis on the need of seeking solution to the problems through dialogue and consensus.

Speaking in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, he stressed the need to normalizing Sunsari situation and all sides should move ahead giving importance to social harmony for this purpose.

NCP Parliamentary party leader Dahal expressed the view that the reality and facts where or not there was a situation for security personnel to open fire in Kaptanganj of Sunsari should be made public.

Expressing the view that the Prime Minister should take leadership to settle and managing such type of incident as per the existing laws, constitution and practice, he, however, shared that all-party meeting called by Rastriya Swatantra Party on Wednesday should be taken a positive initiative.

The former Prime Minister argued that solution to this sensitive problems should be find out through unity and collaboration among major political parties under leadership of the government, pointing out the need of dialogue and collaboration in this difficult situation.

He commented that some incidents taking place in recent period for democratic rights of the Nepali people have not indicated well.

The activities of the Prime Minister like not addressing the programme organised on the Republic Day, walking out at a time when the President was reading the government’s policies and programmes and statement made in the parliament on border issues are not considered good in democratic governance system, he mentioned.

NCP Parliamentary party leader underlined, “We all lawmakers should play role in favour of devotion towards democracy and responsibility towards the nation. It is necessary that everyone should be united for safeguarding national sovereignty. Some of statements of the Prime Minister have created difficulties for him. So he should give clarification in the parliament to build convenient situation.”

He recalled that although the then CPN (Maoist) was in opposition during Gorkha earthquake occurred in 2072 BS, the party had actively participated in the activities of relief, rescue and rehabilitation tasks collaborating with the government during the disaster hour.

Expressing the view that the role of the ruling party, Rastriya Swatantra Party, would be significant in the campaign of making Nepal independent, strong and prosperous country by maintaining national unity and social harmony among the Nepali people, leader Dahal clarified that his party was ready to extend support and cooperation as like before when the country faces difficulties.
