Madhesh province government raises revenue Rs 33 billion

Janakpurdham, July 18: The Madhesh province government has collected 70 percent of its target revenue in the fiscal year 2082/83.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the province government raised revenue around Rs 32 billion 886 million.

Data Officer at the Ministry of Finance, Rajendra Acharya informed that the internal revenue collection amounts to around Rs 5.77 billion.

The provincial government has collected Rs 1.77 billion 95 million from house and land registration and Rs 2.27 billion 80 million from vehicle taxes.

In the last fiscal year, revenue from driving license issuance and vehicle registration fees was around Rs 79 million, income from the transport sector was around Rs 12 million.

The provincial government has received Rs 8.86 billion from the value-added tax from land distribution and Rs 3.20 billion from internal taxes.

Acharya further shared that the provicne government received Rs 7.03 billion as equalization grants from the federal government, Rs 2.17 billion as conditional grants, and Rs 1.56 billion as conditional capital grants.
