Kamirita Sherpa Extends Own Everest Record with 32nd Summit

Kathmandu, May, 17 :  Kamirita Sherpa has successfully scaled Mount Everest for a record 32nd time, further extending his own world record in high-altitude mountaineering.

According to Seven Summit Treks, the 56-year-old veteran climber reached the summit of the world’s highest peak at 10:12 am on Sunday. The expedition company said preparations were underway to accord him a grand welcome in Kathmandu while wishing him a safe descent.

Kami Rita began climbing Everest in 1994 and has since established himself as one of the most accomplished mountaineers in history. His repeated ascents have made him a symbol of excellence in the global climbing community and a source of national pride for Nepal.

Tourism Minister Khadka Raj Paudel said the achievement had once again brought honor to the country.

Born in Thame of Solukhumbu district in 1970, Kami Rita continues to dominate the record books for Everest ascents.
