ICC Men’s World Cup Cricket League 2- Nepal secures 122-run victory against the US

Kathmandu, May 22: Nepal secured a 122-run victory against the United States of America in a match held on Friday under the ICC Men’s World Cup Cricket League-2.

In the match held at the Kirtipur-based TU International Cricket Ground, the US were bowled out for 195 in 41.1 overs, while chasing a 318-run target. For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane alone took two wickets followed by each two from Lalit Rajbanshi, Dipendra Singh Airee and Gulshan Jha. Sompal Kami also removed one batsman.

Sanjaya Krishnamurthi was a top scorer for the US with 56 runs while Nosthush Kenjige made 29, Shayan Jahangir scored 27, Shehan Jayasuriya 26 and Saiteja Mukkamalla contributed 22 runs to the team.

Prior to this, Nepal was put to bat first after losing the loss, scoring 317 in 50 overs at the loss of eight wickets. Ishan Pandey scored the highest 84 including eight fours and one six off 84 balls. Dipendra Singh Airee made 59 followed by 46 from captain Rohit Paudel, 43 from Aashif Sheikh, 29 from Kushal Bhurtel, 18 from Aarif Sheikh and 15 from Gulshan Jha.

For the US Shubham Ranjane took three wickets followed by one each from Milind Kumar and Rushil Ugrakar. With today’s victory, Nepal has accumulated 24 runs in 28 games: 11 victories, 15 defeats and 2 undecided.
