HoR members draw govt.’s attention on contemporary issues

Kathmandu, July 15: Lawmakers have drawn the attention of the government on various issues including landless squatters’ problem, price hike control and good governance.

In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Gita Gurung of the Nepali Congress asked the government to work in order to make country’s economy vibrant, to control price hike, to make sustainable management of landless squatters and to raise hope among the people.

Similarly, Ganga Devi Shrestha of the CPN (UML) suggested the government to resolve Nepal-India border issue through diplomatic initiatives while Mahendra Bahadur Shahi of the Nepali Communist Party .expressed the view that all should focus their efforts fulfill people’s aspiration of prosperity.

Saying that protecting the life and property of the citizens is the responsibility of both ruling and opposition parties, Ambika Devi Sangraula drew government’s attention to maintain rule of law.

Likewise, Tahir Ali Bhat of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party suggested the Speaker to play leadership role in the context of making HoR proceedings systematic by ending deadlock of the parliament.

Earlier, lawmakers of the opposition parties protested by standing up from their respective seats soon after the commencement of today’s meeting.
