Birgunj, April 23: Nepali goods worth Rs 79.54 billion were exported through the Birgunj customs point in the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS, the Birgunj Customs Office said.
This year’s export of the country through this customs point is more by Rs 10.19 billion compared to the same period of the last fiscal year. The Office said that goods worth Rs 69.35 billion were exported in nine months’ period of the fiscal year 2081/82 BS.
Information Officer of Birgunj Customs Office, Udaya Singh Bista, said that the exports from this customs point increased by 15 per cent in this fiscal year.
The major exported goods include soybean oil of Rs 43.61 billion, fruit juices of Rs 5.84 billion, palm oil of Rs 5.24 billion, sunflower oil of Rs 5.5 billion and clothes worth Rs 2.69 billion.
Likewise, synthetic yarn worth Rs 1.94 billion was exported during the period through the customs point, Information Officer Bista said.
