Kathmandu, 11 Sept; The fifth batch of emergency relief supplies provided by the Chinese government arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Friday afternoon.
The relief materials were transported directly to Kathmandu via a Y-20A heavy-lift cargo aircraft belonging to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Dr. Chen Song, handed over the supplies to Nepal’s Minister for Science, Technology, and Innovation, Mahabir Pun, during a brief, special ceremony held at the airport.
According to the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, these materials were dispatched with a focus on Nepal’s most urgent needs to streamline post-disaster rescue and management operations.
The handed-over supplies include diesel generators for emergency power backup, water rescue equipment, DNA testing apparatus and reagents, mortuary freezers for preserving bodies, and medical protective masks.
China has been consistently providing significant humanitarian assistance to Nepal following the recent disasters caused by devastating floods, landslides, and a glacial lake outburst.
