Kathmandu, July 20: The Department of Transport Management under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has urged the line ministries of all seven provinces to make arrangements for validating medical certificates issued by licensed doctors registered with the Nepal Medical Council during the process of issuing driving licenses.
According to a circular issued by the Department a few days ago, such arrangements are warranted to prevent unnecessary crowds of service seekers, reduce additional financial burden on them and address issues arising from the involvement of certain groups and syndicates in obtaining and issuing of driving license.
With the implementation of the circular, medical checkup required for obtaining driving license are expected to become more systematic, transparent, and orderly, benefitting service seekers. Meanwhile, the Department has also sought details of doctors recognised by the Nepal Medical Council. It wrote to the Department on July 17 requesting such details.
