Division Forest Office refutes discarding vehicle into forest

Ghodaghodi (Kailali), June 14: As a video of a three-wheeler (tempo) shoved down from roadway into a forest in the Chure range of Kailali district went viral on social media today, the Division Forest Office here has denied that it intentionally hurled the vehicle into the forest.

The Division Forest Office organized a press conference and made it clear that its staffs had not shoved the three-wheeler to fell it into the forest. But, vehicle was mere a carcass, deserving removal.

It was placed to function as a hut in an encroached area of forest. The vehicle was in no condition to operate, for its engines had already been dysfunctional, the Office added.

Senior divisional forest officer Dr Rambichari Thakur informed that the Office was conducting regular observation on the Chure area to check whether there were any encroachments. Some huts were created illegally, so they acted against these activities.

The three-wheeler which had turned into carcass belonged to Ghanashyam Dhami, who was requested repeatedly to remove it but denied. So, the Office employees removed it.
Officer Thakuar expressed concern over circulation of the content being baseless.
