Curfew lifted in Sunsari; prohibitory order still in effect

Kathmandu, Aug 1: The Sunsari District Administration Office has lifted the curfew order in various areas of the district while continuing the prohibition order.

According to the order issued by Chief District Officer Indra Dev Prasad Aryal, the curfew has been lifted today from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Previously, a curfew had been imposed from 9:00 pm on July 28 until further notice.
Though the curfew has been lifted, gatherings of more than five people in designated areas as well as processions, demonstrations, meetings, assemblies, and sit-ins, are prohibited as per Clause 6(3)(a) of the Local Administration Act, 2028.

The prohibition will remain in effect in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-16 and 17, Ramdhuni Municipality-1 and 5 within 200 meters on either side of Mahendra Highway, the entire areas of Inaruwa Municipality and Duhabi Municipality, and in Bhokraha Narsingh, Koshi, Ghadi, Dewanganj, Harinagar, and Barju rural municipalities.

Until further notice, more than five people are not allowed to gather in the designated areas, and any kinds of processions, demonstrations, assemblies, meetings, or sit-ins are prohibited.
