Cabinet decisions: Four joint secretaries promoted

Kathmandu, Sept 16: The government has decided to promote four joint secretaries to the post of secretaries/special class of government service.

The Cabinet meeting held at Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Wednesday took a decision to promote the joint secretaries, according to government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel.

Those promoted to the post of secretary, are Kali Prasad Parajuli (administration service), and Thagindra Khattel, Ram Prasad Bhattarai and Baburam Dahal (judicial service).

The government is for forwarding a legal process to acquire the insurance and compensation to the Nepali citizens injured in Saudi Arabia. The power of attorney will be provided to the legal practitioner with Saudi Arabian citizenship for it.

The Cabinet meeting also endorsed a regulation on simplification and digitalization of government decision making process, 2083; and circular relief fund operation work procedure, 2083.

The government decided to determine the advance tax rates on the gains secured from disposal of interests in entities listed with the Securities Board of Nepal. An advance tax rate of 3.5 percent has been fixed for the capital gains made by natural persons with the ownership of gains for over 365 days, while 5 percent is in the gains made with ownership for 365 days or less.
