Bill formulation to be expedited abiding by constitution and laws: Speaker Aryal

Kathmandu, April 17: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has said that the law drafting would be moved ahead in a speedy manner, upholding the Constitution, laws, process and procedures.

In the discussion with the Journalists Society for Parliamentary Affairs (JSPA) Nepal today, he clarified that it is necessary to pay attention to this matter, as the citizens will immediately benefit from them if laws are drafted in a prompt manner in the Parliament.

“It is important to pay attention to the fact that delays in law-making can have a significant impact on society, and the effects may differ from what is expected,” Speaker Aryal said. Emphasising that all sectors have an equal role in nation-building, he expressed a commitment to adopting good examples and best practices.

The Speaker said, “I am leading as an institution, not as an individual. This institution should be respected not only domestically but also from abroad. May the institution remain true to its values. I believe it should not be violated.”

Highlighting that his focus has been on ensuring that the Parliament delivers more and better results than the Nepali people expect, Speaker Aryal urged support by pointing out the deficiencies observed and encountered during performance.

He said, “It is necessary to pay attention to the aspects where there are some connections between issues like the Gen Z movement, public consciousness, the current scenario, the government formed after the elections, and public expectations.”
