Kathmandu, April 15: Bayer Leverkusen has won the German Bundesliga title. Leverkusen won the Bundesliga title for the first time in history by defeating Werder Bremen 5-0 in Sunday night’s match.
Florin Wirtz completed a hat-trick to give Leverkusen a win at home, while Granit Xhaka and Victor Okoh Boniface scored one each. Boniface scored in the 25th minute of the game and gave Leverkusen the early lead. In the 60th minute, Xhaka doubled Leverkusen’s lead.
In the 68th minute, Wirtz led Leverkusen to an easy victory. In the 83rd minute, Wirtz scored his second personal goal to give the home team a 4-0 lead. In the last minute of the scheduled time, Wirtz scored a goal to give Leverkusen a 5-0 victory.
Leverkusen won the domestic league title for the first time in the club’s 120-year history. In that sequence, Leverkusen ended Bayern Munich’s dominance of 11 seasons.
