Kathmandu, Sept 9: President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, has called one and all for standing united before the world community for climate justice based on national unity and humanity.
Speaking in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives demanding time, RSP president Lamichhane reminded that all parties stood together in case of Bhotekoshi disaster and expressed that the country would once again chart a future in the light of conscience and humanity.
He argued that the government has been carrying out search and rescue operations round the clock with possible efforts. Grievances expressed by those, who have lost their loved ones and complained of state’s slow response, could not be regarded negatively, according to him.
“The act of making unnecessary comments on social media against those who express their anguish and aggression at such hour of grief will not be acceptable. Action will be taken against anyone even if he/she is a cadre of RSP found involved in such irresponsible act. The government should also take action as per the law,” the RSP president underscored. Urging the government to follow constructive aspects of opposition for disaster management, he requested all not to do politics in the name of disaster.
The leader further viewed, “Mere tribute to those who lost their lives due to disproportionate burden of climate crisis is not enough. We must muster courage to demand justice from the world.”
Commending the security personnel and those involved in search and rescue operation, he stated that all friendly countries provided support to Nepal during this tragedy and lauded the contribution of private sector, media and Non-Resident Nepalis in disaster response.
