Nautami Baja handed over to Dalit community

Lamjug, April 20: Nautami Baja (a group of nine traditional musical instruments) has been handed over to Dalit community of Lamjung district with an objective of protecting traditional culture.

Nautai Baja was handed over to Dalit community of Madhyanepal municipality-10 with the aim of maintaining unity among cultural diversity in the municipality, said Mayor Ramesh Kumar Pandey.

Mayor Pandey said the municipality handed over Naumati Baja, which is on the verge of disappearance, to Dalit community to protect it as well as launched a skill-oriented training for them. Along with protection of traditional culture of Dalit community, it would also help in income-generation, he added.

Meanwhile, two-day free dental camp organised at Sundarbazar concluded. A total of 217 people were benefited from the dental camp, said Chairperson of Sundarbazar Hospital Management Committee, Bishnu Kumar Shrestha.
Sundarbazar Hospital orgaised the camp with the support of Sundarbazar municipality-7. There was technical support of Dhulikhel Hospital in the camp.
