Kathmandu, Aug 14: The government has formed a committee to facilitate the implementation of agreement signed with injured people and martyr families of Gen Z movement occurred in September 8 and 9.
At a press briefing organised here today, Joint-Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Hem Raj Aryal, shared this.
The ‘Gen Z Agreement and Integrated Package Implementation, Coordination and Felicitation Committee’ formed under coordination of Joint-Secretary at the OPMCM would play major role in implementation and coordination of agreements signed between the government and agitating side, it is shared.
The Committee has been assigned with main responsibility of reviewing the progress of the implementation of the agreement signed between the government and Gen Z representatives on December 10, 2025 and implementation of ‘integrated package’ approved by cabinet meeting held on July 2.
The Committee would also help maintain mutual coordination between different ministries for the implementation of the package as well as it would serve as the direct contact point for those injured in the Gen Z movement as well as martyr families.
Similarly, the Committee has got mandate to make necessary coordination and facilitation with different government bodies to bring the issues like education, health and employment facility for affected families as mentioned in the integrated package in implementation.
An arrangement has also been made where the Committee could also hold meeting and discussion by inviting government and non-government representatives and thematic experts as per the need in course of working as per its mandate.
One Under-Secretary each from Home Ministry, Finance Ministry, Education and Sports Ministry, Youth, Labour and Employment Ministry, Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Health and Food Safety and Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security and two members each from injured and martyr families of Gen Z movement are the members of the Committee.
Under-Secretary at the OPMCM, Basu Dev Khanal, is member-secretary of the Committee.
