Chitwan records two dengue and six scrub typhus cases

Chitwan, Aug. 14: Two new cases of dengue and six of scrub typhus were reported in Chitwan district in the month of Sawan.

According to Public Health Office, a case of dengue was confirmed in Kalika Municipality and next one in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality in the district.

Likewise, six cases of scrub typhus were confirmed including five in Bharatpur Metropolitan City and one in Ratnanagar Municipality, the Office shared.

Similarly, two people from other districts coming to Chitwan for treatment were also infected with dengue and 28 of scrub typhus.

With this, the district recorded four cases of dengue and 34 of scrub typhus in total in a month of Sawan.

The Vector Control Inspector of Office, Ram KC, said that no case death case was reported during the period but the cases have surged during the rainy season.

Currently, the Office has launched a ‘search and destroy’ initiative against larva in coordination with the local levels.
