NHRC urges government to take note of Yadav’s health

 

Kathmandu, Aug 11: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to pay timely attention to the deteriorating health of Binaya Yadav, who is on a hunger strike.

Yadav has been on a hunger strike at Maitighar in Kathmandu for 12 days demanding a fair investigation into the Sunsari Dewanganj incident.

NHRC requested the government to take note of Yadav’s health condition after taking updates on Yadav’s health condition.

Through a statement he issued today, NHRC spokesperson Dr Tikaram Pokharel said that the commission urges the Nepal government to be sensitive to the health condition of the person on hunger strike, take steps for effective medical treatment to save his life, and resolve the issue through dialogue.
