SC for not live hearing on sensitive issues

Kathmandu, July 29: The Supreme Court has issued an order to not conduct live hearing on the sensitive issues which need protection of privacy.

A division bench of Justices duo Binod Sharma and Shanti Singh Thapa issued such order on Tuesday. “The issues that require protection of privacy as per law, that need closed hearing, and are requested by legal practitioners for maintaining privacy must not be conducted live hearing.”

Earlier, an advocate Jivan Kumar Shahi had filed a writ petition against court’s practice of live hearing. The Justices however said in the order to not conduct live hearing till the formulation and enforcement of SC policy/directive/standard on live hearing.
