Kathmandu, July 29: The Medical Education Commission has approved its programmes and budget of Rs 6.55 billion for current fiscal year 2026/27.
The 27th meeting of the Commission presided over by Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers approved the programmes and budget of Rs 5.99 billion allocated from the Government of Nepal and Rs 564 million from the commission’s internal sources, said Information Officer of the Commission, Arjun Dhakal.
Of the approved budget, Rs 474 million has been allocated towards current expenditure and Rs 86.2 million towards capital expenditure.
Minister for Education and Sports, Sasmit Pokharel, Minister for Health and Food Safety, Nisha Mehta, Commission Vice-Chair Prof Dr Devendra Bahadur Khatri, Commission Member-Secretary Basanta Prasad Koirala were present in the meeting.
