Jumla declared fully immunized and immunization-sustained district

Jumla, June 30: Jumla district has been officially declared a fully immunized and immunization-sustained district amid a programme today after ensuring complete vaccination coverage for eligible children across all eight local levels.

The District Immunization Coordination Committee organized the programme. Kiran Kumar Sharma, the head of the Public Health Service Office in Jumla, said that since all the eligible children in all local levels of the district have been fully vaccinated in the current fiscal year, the district has been declared fully immunized.

All types of vaccines have been given to 2,068 children aged up to 15 months and 3,364 children aged 16 to 23 months in the district’s eight local levels.

Chief District Officer Deepak Kumar Paudel said that it is essential to vaccinate children with all types of vaccines to keep them healthy.

Coordinator of the District Immunization Coordination Committee, Gaurinanda Acharya, said that the contribution of female health volunteers, health workers, and local authorities is important for declaring the district fully vaccinated.

There are 89 vaccination centers. The health branches of eight local levels in the district were also honoured on the occasion.
