Fare of public and transport vehicle adjusted

Kathmandu, April 8: The government has agreed to adjust the fare of public transportation vehicles and freight vehicles.

Following the increase in fuel prices, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management has agreed to increase the fares of public transport. Ganeshman Singh Rai, Information Officer of the Department of Transport Management, said that the fare adjustment was made on the basis of consensus.

The department increased the fare based on 13 different indicators. Saroj Sitaula, Senior Vice President of the Nepal National Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs, shared that the government has adjusted the fares of public and freight vehicles today at the request of the federation.

According to Sitaula, the government has adjusted the fares of passenger vehicles to be increased by 16.71 percent, fare of freight vehicles operation on hilly roads by 21.68 percent, and vehicles operating on Tarai roads by 15.75 percent.
