Construction of embankment at Susta underway to control erosion

Madhyabindu (Nawalparasi), March 17: Construction of embankment at Gajendra Mokshyadham and Susta area of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) has been started to control erosion from the river Narayani.

Chief of Irrigation and Water Resource Managament Project Office, Bharatpur, Dr Narayan Subedi, said the construction of the embankment began from second week of March at a cost of around Rs 170 million.

Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Sarita Dawadi, on Monday carried out inspection of the construction of embankment.

In course of monitoring, Dawadi mentioned that conservation of Susta, located at the Narayani river bank, is in high priority of the government, adding the government has forwarded activities with priority for the purpose.

Project Chief Subedi opined that a temporary office has been set up in the field with an objective of completing the construction activities before monsoon.

Lauding the ongoing construction activities of the project in course of monitoring, Secretary Dawadi expressed the belief that construction of the embankment would be completed on time.
