Kathmandu, March 1: The Nepali Congress (BP) has been officially merged with the Nepali Congress led by Gagan Thapa.
Both parties forged agreement for unity and made announcement at an election programme in the federal capital on Sunday. Agreement for the unification was signed by NC President Gagan Kumar Thapa and President of the NC (BP), Sushil Man Sherchan, from the respective sides.
As per agreement, NC (BP) would merge its party organization, members and structures entirely to the NC by following the latter’s ideology and principles.
The decision on the party merger was taken in view of the March 5 election to House of Representatives.
