Gandaki, Feb 27: President of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has emphasized that his party was committed to wiping out corruption and ensuring good governance.
In his address to an election publicity event at Amarsingh Chowk of Pokhara city on Friday, President Thapa said the country is in desperate need of getting out from corrupt practices. He highlighted that investigations would commence into the property of all, including former NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba and himself, who held significant public posts following 2046 BS.
NC wants such government that ensures revolutionary changes in the sectors of education, health, agriculture, employment and industry in coming five years. The President further said Nepal can no longer endure any form of conflict.
Thapa, however, urged everyone for collective efforts to achieve developments at significant pace.
On the occasion, NC Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma appealed to the citizens to make informed decisions rather than acting impulsively. He shared that the NC had begun a transformation by reinventing itself after the special general convention. The special convention has embraced new ideas and enthusiasm, according to him.
NC candidates from Kaski constituencies 1, 2, and 3, Tilak Ranabhat, Madhav Prasad Banstola and Manoj Gurung, respectively, shared their views before the public.
