Kathmandu, Jan 29: The District Police Range, Kathmandu has begun a joint patrol as part of the security arrangement for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election.
Chief of District Police Range, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramesh Thapa, informed that the joint patrol was launched along with sniffer dogs at morning and night as per decision of district security committee and the Range, Kathmandu.
Thapa added, “Mobilization of sniffer dogs is intensified to identify explosives and drug use. Even the surprise checks are conducted at various places” He said it during a press meet on Thursday.
The suspicious persons are taken under control and released after thorough investigation. “A joint patrol of the Nepali Army, the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Police is conducted in the sensitive places,” Thapa said.
The police persons are mobilized to collect information against the elements and activities that intend to disrupt election and the action taken accordingly.
