Over 4.7 million people visit Narayanhiti Museum in 17 years

Kathmandu, Dec 25: With the abolition of the monarchy, the Narayanhiti Palace was transformed into a museum some 17 years ago.

Over 4.77 million domestic and foreign tourists have observed the museum during 17 years since its establishment. This number of visitors observed the museum as of mid-November after its setup.

Information Officer at the Narayanhiti Palace Museum and Republic Monument Management and Operation Development Committee Purushottam Thapa informed that as many as 260,000 people had visited Narayanhiti Museum in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS while 46,700 had observed the historical palace since mid-July to mid-November in the current fiscal year.

The government charges Rs 50 for student, Rs 200 for Nepali citizens, and Rs 500 for SAARC nationals and Rs 1,000 for foreign national for the entry into the Narayanhiti Museum.

The museum has been kept open on every Saturday and also on other public holidays.
