Party registration commences enthusiastically on inaugural day

Kathmandu, Nov 17: The opening day of party registration at the Election Commission (EC) saw significant enthusiasm in anticipation of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

A total of twelve political parties, including the newly formed Nepali Communist Party and the Progressive Democratic Party, which is poised to announce its unification, have submitted their registration applications to the Commission on the first day.

Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the spokesperson for the Commission, shared that the registration period for the HoR election is set from today until November 26, and the initial day has witnessed a lively response from parties eager to register. The presence of numerous political leaders and activists at the Commission’s premises, all seeking to register their parties for the forthcoming elections, demonstrates a strong commitment among all political factions to engage.

According to the Commission, several party officials have submitted applications today for their parties to participate in the elections, including Sandhya Khanal from Desh Bikas Party, Raj Prasad Thapaliya from the Progressive Democratic Party, Drona Adhikari from Deshbhakta Samaj, Shrawan Kumar Chaudhary from the Nepal Democratic Party, Prem Suwal from the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, Lima Adhikari from the Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Rabindra Singh from the Aam Janata Party.

Furthermore, Santosh Tamang from the Mangol National Organization, Bishwendra Paswan from the Bahujan Shakti Party, Saraswati Kumari Jha from the Nepal Sadbhavana Party, Rajendra Prasad Pandey from the Nepali Communist Party, and Megh Bahadur Kami from the Nepal Manabatabadi Party have also submitted their applications for party registration today.
