Kathmandu, Sept 8 : At least 14 protesters injured during the ‘Gen Z’ demonstrations in the Kathmandu Valley on Sunday have died while undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
Authorities confirmed that more than 100 others remain hospitalized. The Trauma Center reported six deaths, with 25 still receiving treatment — five of them in critical condition. Civil Hospital confirmed three fatalities, while Kathmandu Medical College recorded one death out of 20 admitted protesters. Everest Hospital reported three deaths among 34 admitted, and Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, confirmed one death with 16 still under treatment.
The Ministry of Health and Population has instructed hospitals to provide free medical care to the injured. Home Ministry spokesperson Anand Kafle said a detailed assessment of the losses from the Gen Z demonstrations is currently underway.
