Kathmandu, Sept 7: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has expressed support for the Gen Z generation’s protest scheduled for Monday against the government’s move to shut down social media platforms.
In a statement on social media, Shah said he could not physically join the demonstration due to the age restriction but fully supported it. He stressed that the rally was a spontaneous initiative of youths under 28 and urged political parties, leaders, cadres, lawmakers, and activists not to use it for personal or partisan interests.
Shah added that it was important to listen to the aspirations and concerns of young people, even if he himself was unable to attend.
