Six recommended for district judges

Kathmandu, Sept 2: The meeting Tuesday of the Judicial Council has decided to recommend six law officials to be appointed as district judges.

Those recommended to the post of district judges are District Attorney of Kathmandu District Government Attorney’s Office, Gokul Bahadur Niraula, Deputy Registrar of Administrative Court, Arun Kumar Koirala and Records Keeper at Rolpa District Court, Kul Prasad Dahal, according to Suman Pandey, Information Officer of the Judicial Council.

Similarly, the bench officer of the Supreme Court Surya Prasad Bhandari, Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court Anupama Pant, and Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Bishwadeep Besra have been recommended as the new district judges.

There are 27 vacant posts of judges in the district courts, of which 21 are to be appointed through open competition by the Judicial Service Commission.
