Agency, August 11: Catalan giants Barcelona extended their unbeaten pre-season run with a dominant 5–0 victory over Italian side Como on Sunday night, clinching the Joan Gamper Trophy at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
Lamine Yamal and Fermín López both scored twice, while Raphinha added one goal as Barça sealed the win in style. The home side struck four times in the first half alone. López opened the scoring in the 21st minute, before doubling the lead in the 35th minute from a Frenkie de Jong assist.
Three minutes later, Raphinha finished off a Rashford pass to make it 3–0. In the 42nd minute, Yamal converted Raphinha’s assist to put Barcelona 4–0 ahead before the break. Yamal grabbed his second in the 49th minute from a Ferran Torres pass, taking the score to 5–0.
No further goals came in the remainder of the match, and Barcelona comfortably lifted the trophy. Having lost the Gamper Trophy to Monaco in 2024, Barça reclaimed it this year. They will now face Mallorca on August 16 to kick off the new La Liga season.
