Kathmandu: Office-bearers of the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) are meeting Sunday afternoon to discuss on changing the schedule for general convention, prevention and control of COVID-19 and other issues, NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma said.
He said, “The office-bearers’ meeting will discuss on schedule of the general convention, COVID-19 pandemic and other issues,”
NC has already announced to hold the 14th general convention from February 19-22, 2021 in Kathmandu. Distribution and renewal of active membership has been stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The party had stopped all party activities since March 4.
The schedule for general convention made public by the central committee meeting on December 27, 2019 required distribution and renewal of active membership by mid-July. But the works have yet to start due to the pandemic.
The party also has yet to complete integration at the eight levels as required by the federal structure in most of the districts.
