Hon’ble Narayan Khaji Shrestha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs of Nepal,
Respected Mr. Yang Dongping, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Silk Road Youth Forum,
Ladies and gentlemen,
Good morning!
It is a great honor to attend the Silk Road Youth Forum South Asia Cooperation Conference and the Silk Road Famous Nepalese City Promotion Series with Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Shrestha and all guests, scholars, and young friends.

China and Nepal are friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers. The friendly exchanges between the two peoples have lasted for thousands of years, and they have jointly written a splendid epic of mutual learning among civilizations along the ancient Silk Road. In 2019, Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a historic state visit to Nepal. The two countries established a strategic cooperative partnership of ever-lasting friendship oriented towards development and prosperity, and China-Nepal friendship opened a new chapter. Since last year, exchanges between China and Nepal have accelerated at all levels. The Prime Minister, Vice President, Chief Justice, Chairman of the Federal Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs, Deputy Speaker, Vice Chairman of the Federal Council and a number of senior party and government leaders have visited China. Yuan Jiajun, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, and Wang Junzheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Tibet Autonomous Region, have also visited Nepal. Mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in various fields has achieved positive results, and the Trans-Himalayan three-dimensional interconnection network is gradually taking shape, which continues to benefit Two countries and two peoples.

The friendship between nations lies in mutual affinity between the people, and mutual affinity between the people lies in mutual understanding. In recent years, a large number of Nepalese youths have gone to China to study and pursue further education, with majors covering multiple fields such as medicine, architecture, electronic information engineering, law, and language. High quality talents who return from their studies will become an important force for the country.。In China, more and more young people are beginning to understand and know Nepal, and are attracted by Nepal’s profound cultural heritage and unique beautiful scenery. The number of Chinese young people coming to Nepal to learn language, religion and cultural knowledge is gradually increasing. The youths of the two countries have become familiar with and contacted with each other through various cultural exchange activities. Youth exchanges have become one of the important forms of exchanges between China and Nepal。The Chinese side welcomes more talented Nepalese youth to further their studies in China and is willing to provide more convenience for Nepalese youth to understand China.

Youth is the cornerstone and hope of a country, and the continuation of friendly relations between China and Nepal cannot be separated from the unwavering commitment of young people。If the younger generation has ideals, abilities and responsibilities, the country will have a future and the nation will have hope. General Secretary Xi Jinping has pointed out that young people are the most dynamic and creative group in society and should be at the forefront of innovation and creation. Realizing the Chinese Dream and the Dream of Prosperous Nepal are two historical relay races. The young people of both countries should consciously establish a sense of ownership, cultivate innovative thinking, tap into innovative potential, and improve their innovative abilities. They should continuously surpass their predecessors and strive to be the first in the race to achieve national rejuvenation. In the new era and new journey, I hope young friends will keep in mind the instructions, let their dreams fly, and use the wisdom and sweat of youth to build a better future.

Thank You !
