Champions League: Real Madrid take on Chelsea

Kathmandu, April 6: Chelsea and Real Madrid face off in the first leg of today’s quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League, the biggest competition in European football. The game at Stramford Bridge will start at 12:45 pm NST.

In today’s match, both the teams want to win and go to the second leg. Chelsea, who suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Brentford in the last game of the Premier League, want to strengthen their chances of reaching the semi-finals by beating Madrid in today’s game. Chelsea have not been knocked out of the quarterfinals since the 2010/11 season. Chelsea, who have won the last five Champions League games at home with a clean sheet, want to continue the same rhythm today.

Real Madrid, the most successful team in the competition that has beaten title contenders Paris Saint German(PSG) in the last 16, will enter today’s match with high morale. Currently at the top of the domestic league, close to the title, Madrid is aiming to win the Champions League for the 14th time. Madrid have a chance to take revenge against Chelsea today.
