{"id":7985,"date":"2024-08-29T13:32:05","date_gmt":"2024-08-29T07:47:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=7985"},"modified":"2024-08-29T13:32:05","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T07:47:05","slug":"flights-on-jomsom-pokhara-route-resumed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/flights-on-jomsom-pokhara-route-resumed\/","title":{"rendered":"Flights on Jomsom-Pokhara route resumed"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Myagdi, Aug 29: Flights on the Jomsom-Pokhara route have been restored today following a two-month halt.<\/p>\n<p>The air service connecting Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki Province, and Jomsom, a tourist destination in Mustang, had remained closed since July 1, owing to adverse weather conditions.<br \/>\nAccording to Keshav Lamsal, the chief of Jomsom Airport, Summit Airlines operated five flights on the route today. \u201cThe weather has now improved.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said the service was resumed given the commencement of the tourist season. Lamsal added that Tara Air, a sister company of the private sector airline Yeti Airlines, is preparing to provide flights on the route from September 3.<\/p>\n<p>Ninety people landed in Mustang today on five flights, according to Lamsal.<br \/>\nIt has been a relief for would-be passengers including pilgrims when the Benighat-Jomsom road section in Magdi has been affected by landslides.<br \/>\nPrior to this, the lack of road access and air service to Mustang, people were forced to travel by helicopter which made the journey costlier.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Myagdi, Aug 29: Flights on the Jomsom-Pokhara route have been restored today following a two-month halt.
