{"id":6550,"date":"2024-08-05T20:47:58","date_gmt":"2024-08-05T15:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=6550"},"modified":"2024-08-05T20:48:18","modified_gmt":"2024-08-05T15:03:18","slug":"6550-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/6550-2\/","title":{"rendered":"CM Kandel wins vote of confidence"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kakrebihar (Surkhet), Aug 5: Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yam Lal Kandel, has won a vote of confidence of the Provincial Assembly for the second time.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Minister Kandel had tabled a proposal before the Assembly seeking a vote of confidence, as per the Article 188 (2) of the Constitution, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Out of 40-member province assembly including the Speaker\u2014Kandel received 23 votes while 14 votes were cast against the proposal. A province assembly member of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Santoshi Shah, remained absent while Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Jeevan Bahadur Shahi remains suspended.<\/p>\n<p>At least 23 votes are required to make a majority government in the province. CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party leader Kandel was appointed to the post of Chief Minister on April 9.
