{"id":57140,"date":"2026-10-20T16:23:49","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T10:38:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=57140"},"modified":"2026-10-20T16:23:49","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T10:38:49","slug":"science-technology-innovation-legal-reforms-remain-government-priorities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/science-technology-innovation-legal-reforms-remain-government-priorities\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Science, technology, innovation, legal reforms remain government priorities&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Narayangadh (Chitwan), Oct 20: The government has prioritised the development of science, technology and innovation, along with enactment of necessary laws, to drive national prosperity, two ministers said.<\/p>\n<p>During interactions with locals in Bhratpur of Chitwan today, Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun, and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, said the government has prioritised the maximum utilisation of innovation and technology, while expediting the formulation of necessary laws.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Pun added that although there were challenges during an initial phase when the Ministry was newly established and required laws were awaited, the government had been successful in overcoming these hurdles and is now advancing along the path toward building a prosperous Nepal. He added that some legal complexities and time issue in regard with enactment of laws were addressed through an ordinance, expressing his hope the Ministry would onward accelerate its planning and research initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Minister Gautam was of the view that people are sovereign in a democratic system and the people&#8217;s representatives must remain accountable to citizens. She pledged to accelerate the enactment of required laws to promote good governance and development.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, details regarding the target of enacting 165 laws have already been presented to the House, and that drafts of 54 laws have been presented to the Council of Ministers by the respective ministries.
