National Sugarcane Crop Research Programme in cooperation with Indian Sugarcane Research Institute brought such varieties to Nepal.<\/p>\n<p>First Secretary of Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Nisha, handed over the seeds of improved varieties of sugarcane to Executive Director of Nepal Agriculture Research Centre, Shreemat Shrestha.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinator of National Sugarcane Programme, Dil Raj Yadav, shared that these varieties of sugarcane have higher productivity and sugar content.<\/p>\n<p>Sugarcane is cultivated on around 53,000 hectares of area in Nepal.
