{"id":56597,"date":"2026-10-11T23:03:51","date_gmt":"2026-10-11T17:18:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=56597"},"modified":"2026-10-11T23:03:51","modified_gmt":"2026-10-11T17:18:51","slug":"pm-shah-urges-to-follow-directive-of-local-administration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/pm-shah-urges-to-follow-directive-of-local-administration\/","title":{"rendered":"PM Shah urges to follow directive of local administration"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kathmandu, Oct 11: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has urged the people residing in downstream areas to stay in safer places, to avoid travelling on risky bridges and roads as well as to follow the directives of local administration and security bodies.<\/p>\n<p>Taking to his social media account on Sunday, Prime Minister Shah shared that the flash floods in Budhigandaki river was triggered following landslide that occurred between Lokpa and Chumling of Chumnubri rural municipality in Gorkha on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Five persons went missing in the floods while search operation has been accelerated, he mentioned. The flood swept away suspension bridges, motorable bridges, telephone towers, electric poles while causing damages to camp area of under-construction Budhigandaki hydropower project, construction equipment and houses there.<\/p>\n<p>Police personnel were mobilized from Area Police Office Arughat soon after receiving information about floods while people of downstream areas were shifted to safer places.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Shah added that early information was sent through around 200,000 SMS to the people of Gorkha, Dhading and Benighat of Chitwan from Centre of Hydrology and Water Resources Research and Food Forecasting Division.<\/p>\n<p>Total 48 people including 12 staffs of under-construction hydropower project in Salleri of Gorkha and shifted to safer places, opined the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 127 personnel from Nepali Army, 133 from Nepal Police and 177 from Armed Police Force, Nepal have been mobilized for search and rescue operation in flood-hit areas as well as four NA choppers have been used for rescue operation.<\/p>\n<p>A three-member team comprising a zoologist has been mobilized with a drone to find out the reason behind flood. A meeting of Disaster Response Command Post of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has been continuously taking place and coordination with bodies concerned is underway for monitoring of the situation of flood, analysis, information dissemination, rescue and relief task. Relief materials are being transported at flood-hit areas through land and air routes.<\/p>\n<p>A team comprising Director General of the Department of Roads and Department of Local Infrastructure Development for feasibility study for the operation of roads and installation of bailey bridges.
