{"id":55829,"date":"2026-09-30T16:18:52","date_gmt":"2026-09-30T10:33:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/?p=55829"},"modified":"2026-09-30T16:18:52","modified_gmt":"2026-09-30T10:33:52","slug":"finance-committee-directs-to-protect-best-interests-of-investors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalsamaj.com\/en\/finance-committee-directs-to-protect-best-interests-of-investors\/","title":{"rendered":"Finance Committee directs to protect best interests of investors"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Kathmandu, Sept 30: The Finance Committee under the House of Representatives has directed the bodies concerned for issuance of securities, listing, market operation, regulation and safeguarding the best interest of investors, making Nepal&#8217;s share market modern and technology-friendly, well-organised, transparent, reliable and investment-friendly.<\/p>\n<p>A meeting of the Finance Committee held at Singha Durbar today decided to ask the Finance Ministry and Securities Board of Nepal to formulate a new bill related to securities clarifying the role, responsibility and accountability of SEBON, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited and CDS and Clearing Limited and table it in the federal parliament.<\/p>\n<p>On the occasion, Committee President Dr Krishna Hari Budhathoki shared that the committee directed the SEBON to categorize and priorities companies based on factors such as capital adequacy, technology, net worth, balance sheet returns before granting permission to issue initial public offering (IPO) as well as to review the systems regarding share ownership requirements for promoters.<\/p>\n<p>The committee also asked the Finance Ministry, SEBON and NEPSE for the advancement of the technology as NEPSE online trading system, technology and data system disrupt causing loss for investors and government in revenue collection and highly ensure cyber security.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the meeting directed to stop cornering, circular trading, pump and dump by creating artificial shortage or demand by controlling trading and supplies through collusion in the secondary market.<\/p>\n<p>The SEBON and NEPSE were directed to take immediate action against the involved individuals and companies by carrying out inspection and monitoring the issues related to share market.<br \/>\nLikewise, the committee took the decision of asking the Finance Ministry to forward the process for the appointment at vacant posts as the post of chief executive officer at NEPSE and CDS and Clearing Limited are remain vacant since long.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, Sept 30: The Finance Committee under the House of Representatives has directed the bodies concerned for issuance of securities, listing, market operation, regulation and safeguarding the best interest of investors, making Nepal&#8217;s share market modern and technology-friendly, well-organised, transparent, reliable and investment-friendly.
