Kathmandu, Sept 24:<\/strong> Nepal has entered the semifinals of the women’s kabaddi competition by defeating Sri Lanka in the ongoing 20th Asian Games in Japan.<\/p>\n

In today’s final group stage match held at Toki Citizen Gymnasium in Japan, Nepal beat Sri Lanka 34-25 to advance to the semifinals of the tournament. With this win, the Nepali women’s team has secured a medal in kabaddi.<\/p>\n

Earlier, at the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China, the Nepali women’s team had won a bronze medal.<\/p>\n

Nepal, which took a 19-13 lead in the first half, went ahead 15-12 in the second half and ended up winning 34-25 against Sri Lanka. In group ‘B’, Nepal had beaten Thailand before but lost to Chinese Taipei.<\/p>\n

Along with Nepal, Chinese Taipei has also reached the semifinals from Group \u2018B\u2019. Similarly, Nepal also secured a win over Malaysia in the men’s kabaddi match held today.<\/p>\n

In their final group stage game, Nepal beat Malaysia 73-52. Nepal had a 37-21 lead by the first half of the game. Similarly, in the second half, Nepal led Malaysia 36-31, winning overall by 21 points. This is a consolation win for the Nepalese men’s team.<\/p>\n
